Mission Bayfest 2026: Three Days of Live Music, Beach Views, and California Sound

Written by Abby Wryan

There are few things better in this world than live music and coastal California; I may be biased, but I really think it's the truth. This weekend, in San Diego, Mission Bayfest is combining the two. Returning to the sand October 16-18, Mission Bayfest will take over Mariner’s Point Park for three days of live music. Hosting artists such as headliners Rebelution, Kolohe Kai, and The Offspring, and also supporting new voices like Doah’s Daydream, Mission Bayfest is bound to be a good time.
With a lineup that spans genres: reggae, alternative rock, surf rock, and more, Mission Bayfest is bringing together different corners of the music scene for one weekend on the coast. Whether you’re showing up for the familiar songs you’ve been listening to for years or looking to discover your next favorite artist, there is something about a festival like this that makes live music feel different. Festivals are never about just seeing artists you already love, but about connecting with new artists, new sounds, and finding your new favorites.
Rebelution and Kolohe Kai bring the kind of sound that feels right at home in SoCal. With reggae-inspired beats, their sets are a chance to take in the music, enjoy the ocean breeze, and spend an afternoon surrounded by thousands of other people who share the same love for live music. On the other end of the sound spectrum, The Offspring will bring decades of punk rock energy to the lineup, giving festivalgoers a chance to jump around and sing songs made to be screamed back at the stage.
While the headliners may draw the biggest crowds, the smaller acts throughout the weekend deserve just as much hype. Artists like Doah’s Daydream, Surfer Girl, Sitting On Saturn, and The Ries Brothers are just a few of the names worth adding to your list before heading to the festival. Surfer Girl brings a mix of reggae, alternative, and surf rock influences that fits right in with the laid-back California atmosphere, while Sitting On Saturn leans into alternative and indie rock with a younger edge. The Ries Brothers bring a blend of rock, blues, and funk, adding another layer of variety to Sunday's already incredible lineup. With each artist bringing something different to the stage, the weekend is beyond strictly reggae and punk, making room for the different sounds that continue to shape California's constantly changing music scene.
So grab your friends, start building your festival playlist (I've listed a few of my favorite songs from this year's lineup below), and get ready for three days of live music by the water. Mission Bayfest returns Oct. 16–18, and if there is one thing Southern California knows how to do, it is bring people together through music.
