The Austin-based indie-rock band, The 4411, played an electrifying set at Empire Control Room on May 16th before embarking on its upcoming summer tour. Performing songs from its most recent EP, We Killed the Sun, the group warmed up Empire for Flight by Nothing’s following show. During the set, The 4411 bittersweetly performed its song, “Austin,” about longing for friends who live in different states. As the band played covers of Hozier’s “Jackie and Wilson” and The Backseat Lovers’ “Pool House,” the crowd erupted with energy, singing every word. Ending its set with an electric cover of “Come Together” by The Beatles, The 4411 left the Austin crowd eager for more.
