Bayfest kicked off its annual celebration of music on October 16. For the festival's 8th annual weekend, they brought out artists of all sizes who left the crowd yearning for more. The day started with Doah’s Daydream, who, despite being the earliest set of the day, did not come around to play. Her set featured outfit changes, backup dancers, and was absolutely one of the most energetic sets of the weekend. Next up was Surfer Girl, bringing out a cool energy and fun vocals. As the sun started to set, the movement came out, really sparking energy in the fans. People began to jump around and sang along loud and proud. The iconic Steel Pulse, whose influence in the reggae scene is undoubtedly unmatched. Hearing “Your House” live is a moment I know none of us in the crowd will ever forget. Last but certainly not least, we have our Friday night headliner Rebelution, with fans filling every nook and cranny of the barricade, smiles following not far behind. Friday set the weekend up for success and had undoubtedly set the bar high for the artists to follow.
