Sun Room brought its 'Jackknife Tour' to Austin, Texas, on September 27th. The band’s new EP, Ritual of Chaos, brings forth a new garage rock/punk sound, leading the group away from their typical indie surf-rock discography. Opening the evening was Austin’s own Susannah Joffe, whose indie-pop sound and heartfelt storytelling charmed the crowd as the warm but breezy night unfolded. As the sun dipped slowly behind the outdoor venue, Sun Room took the stage, blending their old sound of nostalgic California vibes with their new infectious rocking riffs. Their setlist included a rock cover of Mazzy Star's "Fade Into You." The show ended with ringing ears, sweaty foreheads, and an electricity that carried throughout the evening.
